Welcome to the North Carolina Soaring Association.

North Carolina has a long history in aviation. The Wright brothers were test flying their gliders on the sand dunes of the Outer Banks in 1901, and setting international soaring duration records that lasted almost 10 years!

The NCSA welcomes non-pilots and certificated pilots not rated to fly gliders who are interested in obtaining a glider rating. If you hold a foreign pilot certificate, we can help you get a certificate issued by the FAA in order to operate a US registered glider. If you are interested in obtaining a glider flight instructor certificate we can also be of assistance.

Our training program is a very important part of our club activities.
